In this article I want to address some misconception between the battery performance of the top phone manufacturers we know ( Android: Samsung, Nokia, Redm, LG, Sony Ericson, Apple: iPhones, iPad, iPod), note that all these companies use quality lithium batteries and these companies aim to make phones with durable battery performance but some users will still complain about battery life even if they bought the latest models of these phones.
So is not actually about the phone brands only🤷
I want to let you know few areas you might be getting it wrong with your mobile phone, and also note that you are supposed to check out features of any device before buying; if you need more work done go for higher RAM and battery life and Qualcomm processor devices, if you need good picture or videos quality go for phones with higher camera qualities, just browse and compare what you need against the specifications of what is available.
And stay away from cheap processors like mediatek and spreadtrum, go for Qualcomm processors and other high end processors.
Battery saving tips...
Privacy screen guards..
Avoid the so called privacy screen guards, avoid them like a plague, I mean those screen guards that are dark, use transparent screen guard, buy the desired thickness you can afford and that won't affect your phones touch sensitivity( 3D or 2D preferable)
Privacy screen guards do so much harm to the phone, it makes the phone to over process, the brightness will always be on the highest, the face ID sensor will malfunction, call sensor will not work properly, infact the phone will function as it something is covering the screen and it's sensors.
Powerful applications..
When done videoing or using a high power consuming app, allow your phone sometimes to cool down, you will notice your phone will be slightly hot when using some apps in your phone, those are high end power consuming apps; Facebook, WhatsApp esp when on video or audio call; others are tiktok, X, Snapchat etc
When not in use, termite these apps from by pressing the recent button on your phone, locate them and swipe up to shut them down.
Sunlight..
Don't always operate your phone directly under the sun, your phone will try to maintain a very high screen brightness 🔅 level and if this continues for a long period of time, your phone will be very hot.
Phones perform better under a shade and if you have to operate it outside, let it not be for a long time.
Heat reduces efficiency, and efficiency is how useful something is.

Phone packs..
Avoid using very tick phone packs, they have a way of making users not to notice their phone temperature, if you are not able to feel the hotness of your phone how else will you know?
Use silicon protective packs that can still let you know when your phone heats up.
Most tick phone packs don't allow your phone to be well ventilated, avoid them.
Charging pattern..
When charging your phone, avoid always letting your phone to get below 10%
Infact to maintain a good battery health and stronger battery performance, don't let your phone battery level fall below 15%, charge it immediately and if you are not close to power then turn off the device manually. A lot depends on this particular point, not letting your phone's battery fall regularly below 15% will revive the battery packs and make them function better.
Maintaining a normal charging circle, that's is always charge your phone to 100% and allow it to float charge for a while, float charging is when your phone battery is full and you still leave it connected to the charger, this helps to fill up the all battery cells accordingly.
Battery cycles and lifespan..
And note that most smart phones have prismatic cell type of lithium batteries, with 80% depth of discharge for 3000 - 5000 cycles of use equating to 8 to 10 years standard lifespan.
If you charge your phone from zero to 100 and use the phone toll if falls back to zero, know that you have completed one cycle.
What this means is that if you don't discharge and recharge your battery regularly, the battery stays longer, if you discharge your phone battery like once or twice daily you are sure of 8 years or more battery life but if you occasionally discharge and recharge your phone 3 or 4 times daily, you will have 2 or 3 years battery life or even less considering some safety factors like excessive heating up and others.
Battery savers..
Use battery saving option in your phone settings. Yes that option is good, it restricts background activities of most apps in your phone, they can't run in the background unless you are using them thereby saving lots of power.
If you have to let some run in the background while power saving is on, then add those apps to exclusion lists.
Depending on your phone, manually restricted background activities of most apps you don't frequently use and restrict their background network use also.
Check through your phone's settings, look for battery settings, data usages & background activities and restrict only those you don't use often especially games, but don't restrict data usage or background activities of system apps like; settings, app stores, music efc(applications that came with the phone's operating system)

Chargers..
Use quality trusted chargers, at least 2amps at 5volts and anything higher to charge your phones.
Avoid using incompatible chargers especially those with too high current output that don't match your phone.
You can check your phone manual or search online depending on your phone model.
Dark modes..
Use dark modes, use dark themes and wallpapers as they tend to save power more, avoid white backgrounds for your battery health and eyes too.
Avoid putting your mobile devices in a poorly ventilated areas like inside a stuffed up bag, on top of the bed where it can be covered by the duvet or pillows and letting them be in that condition over the night etc
In conclusion, phone battery performance relies so much in the usage pattern of the user. Do some of these tips and you will see a big improvement 😉.
